Who am I?

Hello, my name is Jesse Frederick and I am a jack-of-many-trades and master of loving critters. I know way too much about dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles for not being a professional in a field that deals with any of them. I graduated from South Dakota State University (go Jacks!) with an ungraduate degree in English, as well as a minor in Computer Science and another minor in Fine Art. I then went on to get a juris doctor at the University of Kansas School of Law.

I grew up on a small farm south of Waubay, South Dakota and although I have left the farm behind me, some of that rural propriety still lives in my soul. I have lived all over the United States but found my way back home in 2017, where I still live with my husband and three shiba inus. In 2021, I suffered from a cerebellar stroke that almost killed me and permanently compromised my vision, balance, energy, and processing speed.

Although I could no longer practice law, I began working for the Sioux Falls' school district as a substitute teacher and a baker for weddings and events. I have also opened my skills as a pet sitter to the public, since I had already been doing so for years for acquaintances, friends, and family. My services are available for anyone in the Sioux Falls area.

Rover

Rover is an easy-to-use website that allows people who need a human to check in on their furry loved ones while they are away, busy, or otherwise indisposed. You do not need to be on a vacation to need help with your pet. For example, do you work from home but your dog is energetic and would do well with an afternoon walk? Don't hesitate to reach out!

I also run dogsitting services if you are looking for a place where your pup can have several hours of interaction with both other dogs and keener eye on their wants and needs.

Rover

Uncomfortable with using Rover? That's okay! Send me an email directly at ShortStackPack@gmail.com. Below are some of my rates, but anything else needed (medications, allergies, shots, etc) can be negotiated. They do not usually cost extra! Unfortunately, I cannot do overnight stays or boarding with cats (as I am very allergic), but I can and have done drop-in visits! Small rodents (such as rabbits, mice/rats, etc) do not incur extra fees but young puppies (under one year old) incur a slightly higher fee depending on the need. My holidays are generally open but also incur a higher fee. Doggy Day Care is a chance for your rambunctious fur baby to get socialization under an experienced and watchful eye and not be required to sit inside a kennel all day. Drop off will be from 7:00 am (or later depending on your needs) and pick up is anytime before 7:00 pm.

Etsy

I also own an etsy page that is focused on the crafty things I like to do. When my energy is not going towards watching pets or teaching in the Sioux Falls School District, it is going to my many MANY hobbies. All of my projects are hand-made right at home!

Bakery (People)

Although I no longer make grand cakes for brides, I still specialize in smaller treats for weddings and events such as cupcakes (of MANY different flavors), personal whipped cheesecakes, personal tiramisu, cookies, homemade sugar gummies, pies, mochi, and many other things. Most of these things can be altered to fit specific dietary requirements or allergies.

Shipping is not available for any of these products, as they are food items containing temperature-sensitive ingredients (ie dairy). I do deliver goods within the Sioux Falls area for a small fee.

Bakery (Pets)

Along with human treats, I also specialize in pet-safe baking as well. My most common orders include soft peanut butter cookies for dogs, frozen breath mints, and pupcakes (cupcakes for dogs!).

Shipping is available for some of the items, but is not included in the pricing. Items that cannnot be shipped can be delivered by myself for a small fee to the Sioux Falls area. I make everything with fresh ingredients sourced by myself, so prices are subject to change based on rising or lowering of prices. Shipping is generally unavailable for anything that I think can "go bad" during the shipping process or the shipping cost is $30+ and probably not worth your money.
